Basic Gameplay & RulesKubb is a game of strategy, accuracy, and tactical defense. Teams take turns throwing their batons to knock down the opponent’s pieces.1. The Turn SequenceEach turn, a team is given 6 batons to throw underhand, end-over-end. Throws must be made entirely from behind your own baseline.2. The “Field Kubbs” MechanicAny baseline kubbs that are knocked over by the opposing team aren’t immediately out of the game. On the next turn, the team whose kubbs were knocked down must pick them up and throw them across to the other team’s side of the field. The receiving team stands these tossed blocks up vertically wherever they landโthese are now “field kubbs”.3. The Rule of Knock-downsOrder matters! You cannot target an opponent’s baseline kubbs until all of your own kubbs (and any field kubbs that were thrown to your side) have been knocked down first.4. The KingOnce all of the opponent’s baseline kubbs and field kubbs are cleared, a team can aim for the King. Hitting the King before all other kubbs are toppled results in an immediate loss for your team. To win, a team must knock down all opposing kubbs and then successfully knock over the King in a single turn.
