Buttons on the felt. A cup waiting in the middle. The big disc is the squidger. Press the edge of a small wink and it hops. The round is done when the cup is a little rainbow.
The wink card
Court โ a towel, a scarf, or a sheet of paper on the table. Smooth is kind to hops.
Pot โ a mug, a cup, or a small bowl in the center.
Winks โ buttons, bottlecaps, or coins. Mix the colors so each player has a set.
Squidger โ one bigger, flatter button. Everyone can share it, or each player keeps their own.
How a wink hops
Set a wink on the court. Rest the squidger on its far edge. Press and slide โ a tiny scoop, like spreading butter. The wink jumps toward the pot.
Take turns. One hop each. If a wink lands in the pot, it stays. If it kisses the rim and falls back, it waits for the next turn.
Scoring
In the pot โ 3 points, and that wink is done for the round.
Leaning on the rim โ 1 point, still in play.
Closest to the pot โ a bonus wink if the cup is still empty after everyone has hopped once.
Play to 12, or play until every wink has found the mug. Write the house champion on the wink card and stick it on the fridge if the gazette still has room.
Tiny twists
Pot luck โ start with the mug at the far end of the table. Each score, slide it closer.
Color run โ hop your whole set in before anyone else. Rainbow order counts double.
Squidger swap โ after three hops, pass the big disc the other way around the table.
